This baroque-style piece, dated 1965, is a juvenile composition. Jean-Pierre Vial designed it as a study, to familiarize himself with the C clef, widely used in the organ literature.
In 1970, during the wedding ceremony of a friend of his, Jean-Pierre Vial performed an abridged version of this piece, in the church of Avon (the above picture) near Fontainebleau, France.
