Berceuse surréaliste, for flute, viola & piano, in B sharp major

bassinet
(from Wikimedia)

Jean-Pierre Vial composed this short piece in 2013, for the Surrealist Art trio (flute, viola and piano). The theme is borrowed from the French berceuse (lullaby) "Dodo, l'enfant do," a variation of which can be heard in Louis Vierne's berceuse.

In this surrealistic berceuse, the more the baby refrains from sleeping, the more the babysitter becomes angry. The score itself is a bit surrealistic: the piece is scored in B sharp major (instead of the commonplace C major) and its time signature is  0.5 / 1 (instead of the commonplace 2 / 4).
