This short piece is dedicated to organist David Bohn who performed a series of melodica miniatures while “sheltering” during the 2020 Covid‑19 pandemic.

Spikesman is a forged name supposed to designate one who washes hands, with soap, during the recommended twenty seconds that this miniature lasts, so as to prevent coronavirus spikes from infecting any healthy cells.
