Au débotté, for French horn

Jean-Pierre Vial composed this short impromptu-like piece for hornist Mary Beth Orr in 2022. The piece exploits the full usual range of the French horn. Au Débotté is a French adverbial phrase for right away.

Mary Beth Orr premiered this piece in New York City, in March 2023, then performed an encore in Grand Rapids, Michigan (USA) in January 2024.
